No matter how much you look at BOTTICELLI's Birth of Venus, it is impossible to remember the female figure who appears to the right of Venus. She is a Hora, Spring, tasked with receiving Venus and covering her with a mantle. She symbolizes the arrival of beauty and love into the world. But it doesn't matter, no one looks at her. Everything is orchestrated to highlight Venus, even the male figures on the left, who are the winds propelling her. But all the diagonals are designed so that the caregiver falls into oblivion. She doesn't mind because her nature is to be invisible, to always be there taking care of the star, who doesn't look at her, but knows she is always with her.
This is my tribute to those beautiful, invisible caregivers that we all have. And if you don't have one… it's because you are one of them.
